Mrs. Simeone came to Windsor High this year and is thrilled to be a part of the Vineyard Academy Team. She has an extensive background in restaurant management and as an events coordinator. Although the hospitality industry, and the business world in general, was a great fit for Mrs. Simeone, she has always had a passion for school and education and decided to take her degree further and pursue a teaching credential. She is happy to have found a core that incorporates her knowledge and passion in the hospitality industry and her love of education, in the Vineyard Academy.

Mr Kaufman, “I went to college to play baseball, and while I was there I got my college degree.” Mr Kaufman started college at SRJC and transferred to UC Riverside, and graduated in 1993 with a Business degree. Upon graduation, Mr Kaufman worked for Taco Bell Corporation, running restaurants for 6 years. In 1996 he was invited to help coach baseball at Piner HS. From there he took over as the Head coach at Santa Rosa HS, and it was then that he decided to go back to school and get his teaching credential and become a teacher. “I love HS students, they know they are no longer kids, but they don’t know how to be adults and are very curious about what their future holds.” “My favorite part about Vineyard Academy is exposing our students to real world opportunities beyond the classroom walls.”
Mr Kaufman started teaching in 1999, taught at SRHS for 2 years, then came to Windsor HS in 2001. He has been here at WHS ever since.

Mr. Mitts is a recent transplant from southern California with over a decade of teaching experience, as well as 12 years experience in the business world. He enjoys content tied to the real world, so he has a particular interest in teaching government and economics, but also applies the same principle to help students understand why a working knowledge of history is important.
“My favorite part about Vineyard Academy is that students are developing skills that they can utilize in everyday life while building an understanding of the world around them.”
