May 2021 – Wine Release Party at Taft Street Winery

It was a beautiful day for a Wine Release Party and the 2018 Windsor Jaguar Old Vine Zinfandel was ready for its debut. Windsor High School instructors & staff gathered with friends at Taft Street Winery in mid-May for the festivities. The grapes that go into Windsor Jaguar wines have been scrupulously tended and eventually picked by Vineyard Academy staff and students.

Vineyard Academy instructors Barney Kaufman, Chris Mitts, Terah Simeone, and Marie Ganister pose with bottles from multiple releases and the afternoon’s host, Mike Martini, Founder of Taft Street Winery.

Taft Street Winery, which produces all the Windsor Jaguar wines, donates everything except the taxes that get paid to the State of California. Their contributions include the bottles, the labels, and all the work and experience that go into creating a fine vintage. Because of their commitment and generosity, over 92% of the profits from wine sales can go back into the Vineyard Academy program. What about the students? Students can be and are involved in every step in the wine production process up UNTIL the yeast gets added and the fermentation process begins.
