Once a trimester, VA SOL students take part in an enrichment day. They have been known as Workshop Wednesdays and Fieldwork Fridays. Students participate in community building activities with each teacher. In the social studies rotation, students volunteer two hours at the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Typically, students will bag produce or put together dry food/non-perishable food items into boxes. This volunteer work reinforces the curriculum of the Global Sustainability class and reinforces topics covered during the Food Insecurity and Food Waste units.
